Opal Butte Picture Jasper

• Opal Butte is one of my all time favorite jaspers. There is so much you can do with the stone so that the colors and pictures in the stone can be highlighted, that few other stones can provide. It is exceedingly rare and no two pieces are alike. It is a difficult stone to cut, especially if you are trying to get a picture out of it. Often times, I can only cut one high quality stone out a large slab as pictures do not run throughout the slab. This stone produces colorful vivid pictures that I have found in no other stone.
